Anglian's Timber Orangery at Hampton Court Admired by Guests

16th July 2013

Hampton Court Palace Flower Show is an incredible show well worth visiting, as I discovered last week. Flowers, butterflies, bees, Summer houses, unusual marquees, handcrafted goods, tasty new foods, show gardens, conceptual gardens and much much more, including glamorous products such as the Anglian timber orangery.

The sage green timber orangery had a lantern roof that allows light to flood in, and its subtle, cooling colour adds to the relaxed vibes of the room. The Anglian orangery was installed with a Solaroof to keep the room cool, which was very helpful as Hampton Court Palace Flower Show was a scorcher.

It had a four panel bi-fold door, that stretched across the length of the entrance of the orangery, with the ability to offer unparalleled views into the rest of the flower show. It also had a couple of different types of windows too, including top hung and casement windows.

For such a grand room, it needed some complimentary furniture that added character and soul to the room. It had a very chilled-out feeling to it with subtle colours to match the light green of the timber. The wallpaper, provided by, was a floral print that matched the colour of the orangery, giving the room a pretty backdrop.

Laura Ashley kindly provided the orangery with the majority of its furniture. On one side of the room were two comfortable, elegant armchairs that added a real touch of luxury to the room, complete with a footstool - all with a marquee stripe in beige. On the other side of the room was a 2 seater linen sofa, which made the room the perfect place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine with friends.

A beige rug broke up the wooden flooring, whilst a chandelier from Laura Ashley topped off the room with the really glamorous, expensive feel. The Laura Ashley sideboard broke up the statement wall, with a gorgeous mirror, reflecting the light in different directions.

One of my favourite features of the orangery was the handmade willow sculptured hares by Emma Stothard. They were standing guard of the bi-fold doors, reminding me of Alice in Wonderland in their inquisitive poses, surround by shrubbery and flowers provided by Domoney Ltd.

Adding more nature to the orangery and completing the look were orange trees in large terracotta pots, provided by Italian Terrace Limited. After all, the orangery wouldn't be complete without the fruit!
