As part of Anglian’s #50for50 campaign, we provided much-needed support to the 2nd Ryde Scout Group – an organisation that promotes the development of young people in the Isle of Wight – in the form of two new windows worth £1,000.
After careful consideration by a panel of judges including television and radio presenter Philippa Forrester, we selected the 2nd Ryde Scout Group as one of our 50 chosen causes to lend a helping hand. Our donation will help them continue their fantastic work with young people and keep the scout hut nice and warm during the winter.
The 2nd Ryde Scout Group
The 2nd Ryde Scout Group runs Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers for boys and girls aged six to 18. They give children from all backgrounds the opportunity to learn new skills that will help them reach their physical, intellectual and social potential.
“In order to make a difference to the lives of local children, we rely heavily on funding, which is getting more difficult to raise every year,” said Dave Watts, Secretary at the 2nd Ryde Scout Group. “We are therefore extremely grateful to Anglian Home Improvements for its donation of two new windows, which will help us to continue to provide challenges and adventures for the local children.”
What is Anglian’s #50for50 campaign?
To mark our 50th anniversary, we put out a nationwide appeal for 50 worthy causes to support. We were inundated with requests from the likes of community groups, schools, local organisations and charities in need of new windows and doors, financial assistance or another gesture of support.
The 2nd Ryde Scout Group proved itself a more than worthy cause, and we can’t wait to see the difference our support will make to them and our other #50for50 candidates!
