Anglian Home Improvements has announced that its uPVC tilt and turn and sliding sash windows will now be A-rated as standard, in a welcome boost for Britain’s energy-conscious homeowners.
Assessed and awarded by the British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC), A-rated windows offer superior levels of energy efficiency, preventing heat being lost through the windows as well as harvesting more of the sun’s free energy.
Anglian’s contemporary tilt and turn windows can be tilted inwards for ventilation and turned 90 degrees for easy cleaning. Recent enhancements have also resulted in a reduction in the frame size, from 77mm to 53mm, increasing the amount of glass in the window by reducing the frame sightline by almost a third.
Meanwhile the sliding sash windows combine traditional charm with modern practicality. Recently awarded Secured by Design status, they now provide a greater level of security thanks to new features including an anti-jemmy bar and improved cam locks. Secured by Design is the official UK Police flagship initiative supporting the principles of "designing out crime" through physical security and processes.
Tom Allen, Head of Product Development at Anglian Home Improvements, says, “Britain’s homeowners are increasingly focused on energy saving to help the environment and keep their energy bills down. Anglian Home Improvements understands this and is committed to improving energy efficiency in the home, as well as raising standards across the industry, which is demonstrated through these latest security features and aesthetic enhancements.
“Our uPVC casement windows are A-rated or higher as standard, and this move has proved very popular with our customers, so we are delighted to now be able to offer homeowners A-rated windows as standard for our popular tilt and turn and sliding sash windows as well.”
