Following the BAFTA’s in Los Angeles this week, the red carpet was laid out once more on Valentine’s Day in Norwich, to welcome Anglian VIP guests for the grand opening of the new and incredibly stunning Anglian Home Improvements showroom.
The new contemporary styled showroom based just north of Norwich, is the new flagship showroom for the region. It has been opened to mark over 40 years of Anglian heritage in and around Norwich.
Kevin Piper former sports reporter for ITV introduced the surprise and celebrity guests to the gleaming showroom as the ribbon was cut by both Martin Peters and Dean Ashton.

Martin Peters – M.B.E. Martin made his debut for England against Yugoslavia at Wembley winning 2 – 0, as part of the 1966 World Cup team. Later in his career he played in a midfield position for Norwich City Football Club during the 70’s and is now included in the club’s Hall of Fame.
Dean Ashton played as a centre forward for Norwich City Football Club during 2005. Dean played in 46 games and scored a total 18 goals whilst at the club, before transferring to West Ham in January 2006.

The showroom offers visitors the opportunity to view a wide range of Anglian products, wonderfully displayed; including many designs, styles and colours of windows, doors, rooftrim and a stunning conservatory verandah.
Once in the showroom, the first thing to catch your eye located above the reception desk is a large illuminated Anglian Knight to welcome guests. The Anglian Knight has adorned the company logo since its inception in 1966.
Walking into the bright and glittering showroom my eyes were eager to take in all that was on offer. A pathway guided the guests around the displays, which were lit by strings of tiny blue lights at floor level.
For anyone unsure of the remarkable history of Anglian there was an area dedicated to telling the story of the company with a time line of events for everyone to read.
With guests keen to try the brightly colours doors, the display reminded me of a set of revolving doors as everyone opened and closed the different designs. It was really nice to be able to examine the unique locking system on the doors and appreciate just how secure they are.
With a selection of window styles on display it gave the visitors an opportunity to feel the quality of the products at first hand, try out their unique features and to see the colours available.
For me this was especially interesting when it came to the demonstration of how to clean a sash window. The window split into two parts, half falling into the room, allowing you to clean the outside of the window from the inside and without the need of a ladder.
For those of you considering reducing your energy bills with the installation of a solar energy system, the display enables you to understand how the system would work in your home and the many advantages of saving energy and money.
The pièce de résistance for me was the conservatory verandah, with its bright and airy feel, it gave you the opportunity to look at the quality of the various window styles incorporated within the build.
Being able to try the tilt and turn windows and bi-fold doors was quite amazing; allowing your imagination to run wild as you contemplated the design for your home, imagining how access onto your patio and garden would enhance your life.
The Anglian sales team were on hand to offer help and advice with any questions that guests had, including guiding everyone through the choice of styles and colours of products available and those best suited to their home.
