Anglian Gets 'Reddy' to Raise Funds for British Heart Foundation

Employees at Anglian’s Norwich headquarters wore their hearts on their sleeves when they dressed in red in support of the British Heart Foundation’s Wear It. Beat It. campaign on St. Valentine’s Day.

The latest in a series of fundraising initiatives for Anglian’s charity of the year saw employees banish the winter blues and wear red in exchange for a donation to the British Heart Foundation (BHF).  A total of £5,000 was raised during the course of the day, with additional red-themed activities such as a red and heart themed baking competition giving the company’s fundraising efforts a boost.

Melanie McDonald, head of PR and internal communications for Anglian Home Improvements, said: “When planning our year of support for the British Heart Foundation, the opportunity to get involved in Wear It. Beat It. on St. Valentine’s Day was simply too good to miss.  Love was most certainly in the air throughout the day; and we all had a huge amount of fun embracing the red theme while also raising funds to help the British Heart Foundation continue its pioneering research to beat heart disease.”

The BHF is the nation's heart charity and the largest independent funder of cardiovascular research.  With coronary heart disease the UK's single biggest killer, the BHF is leading the fight against it; and its research has helped to transform the lives of people living with heart and circulatory conditions.
