Anglian Home Improvements have won another award, this time for The EEF South East Region Skills Award, for the success of a wide ranging training programme, which bought significant benefits to the company and its staff.
These yearly awards are hosted by the EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, to acknowledge the excellence in enterprise, innovation, environmental performance and skills development among UK manufacturers.
Last year Anglian created it’s own manufacturing training programme to strive for efficiency improvements within the company.
Not only did this programme fly by reducing the costs, it also helped to create a culture of continuing the green improvements within the company.
This drive to be more efficient was taken on by over 100 employees all achieving National Vocational Qualifications linked to manufacturing leaving no waste.
Chair of the Judging panel, Professor Steven Evans said the company was an exemplar for the region developing the skills of its people.
“This is just the sort of business that the British industry needs. This company grasped the opportunity for a culture change within its workforce and applied considerable investment in to its people from the top-down in an effort to increase its bottom-line,” he said.
As winners of the South East Region we will compete in the National Finals, with the winner being announced on January 27th, in a ceremony at Merchant Taylors Great Hall, London.
The EEF South East Region should not be underestimated with 45,000 manufacturing companies, employing more than 680,000 people, making £44 billion out of the UK’s total of £155 billion per year.
