Norwich R.F.C. entertained Enfield Ignatians R.F.C at a very windy Beeston Hyrne following the festive break.
Norwich had hoped to continue their pre-Christmas form, but were out manoeuvred in the first three minutes of the game when the visitors scored their first points. Norwich came back fighting and managed to finish the first half, despite further missed opportunities 13 – 8 in the lead.
After half time and the change of ends, it was Norwich’s turn to play into the wind. Enfield started the second half as they had started the first, this time only taking a minute to add points to the board, making the score 13 – 15.
Norwich continued to attack, but despite their best efforts found it difficult to cross their opponent’s line. In the last ten minutes of the game Norwich broke through the visitors defence to score a try which took the final score to 18 – 29.
