Energy Savings Week – Tip 4

By on 27th October in Home Inspiration

We are nearing the end of Energy Savings Week and we hope the tips so far have been of use to you and your home. I learnt a lot from yesterday’s blog about lifestyle changes and I have even tried incorporating them! I nearly always cleaned my teeth with the tap running, but wasting 6 litres a minute is a ridiculous waste! Hopefully today’s tip will be just as helpful.

Anglian Home Improvement’s energy saving tip today is to install photovoltaic solar panels.

This type of solar panel harnesses the sun’s energy, converting it into electricity. The electricity generated can then be used in your home, with any excess electric transferring to the National Grid, meaning you get a payment from the Feed-in-Tariff.

The Feed-in-Tariff pays you for supplying electricity to the National Grid, which means you can actually earn money from your solar panels. It is something worth considering as you will not only be getting cheaper electric bills (or even be generating all your own electricity) you could also be earning money, which makes photovoltaic solar panels worth the investment.

Solar panels can help cut your carbon footprint and save you money, which makes them an appealing investment for your home. I think solar panels are a product for the future, one that will be used in more and more locations and for a variety of businesses, especially as electric bills have increased by 17.9 in the last 3 years. So, why not get a head start for your home and start saving money?
