Norwich City have had a great week of football. On Tuesday night Carrow Road was blessed with 9 fantastic goals as the Canaries took on League Two club, Bury beating them impressively 6-3, although the goal on everyone’s lips was that of Jessy Reindorf. His 35 yard strike was one to remember!
New signing Johan Elmander was awarded the Anglian Home Improvements Man of the Match award in this entertaining Captial One Cup game.
Saturday saw Carrow Road host the Premier League fixture between Norwich and Southampton, a team that have yet to lose this so far this season. Pochettino’s side have been performing well and would’ve been hoping to continue this against the Canaries.
However, it was the Yellows that had the cutting edge in this game as new 19 year old signing Nathan Redmond scored a fantastic winner. After taking the ball around two defenders, he smashed the ball into the net beating the keeper at the near post.
Southampton did have their chances, but England goalkeeper John Ruddy was on hand to deny Osvaldo, whilst Adam Lallana hit the post from his ferocious volley. There were also appeals for a penalty as Bradley Johnson appeared to block the ball with his hand in the penalty area, whilst at the other end Snodgrass was brought down by Fonte, but again referee Howard Webb waved play-on.
This one goal separated the teams and got Norwich City their first win of this campaign. New boy Leroy Fer was named the Anglian Home Improvements Man of the Match.
