Here at Anglian, we love to see beautiful conservatories, but this one that won the World Building of the Year Award is out of this world! It looks like something from a futuristic film, but it is in fact a giant conservatory, built to demonstrate sustainable building technologies and provide educating entertainment within the gardens.
This conservatory is in Singapore on the Marina Reservoir. One of the domes is the Flower Dome, replicating a cool, dry atmosphere housing Mediterranean and tropical plants. The other dome is the Cloud Forest with a humid, tropical mountain atmosphere, complete with it’s own 115ft mountain and waterfall, which visitors can walk up.
Should you be in Singapore anytime soon, we definitely recommend going to see this conservatory; it even won the World Building of the Year Award at the World Architecture Festival.
Although we don’t build conservatories to this scale, we do get some stunning projects to put gorgeous conservatories onto homes. Take a look at these recent installations and let us know which is your favourite.
