A former airfield in Aberdeenshire is set to be converted into a crematorium, powered by solar panels!
There’s planned to be enough panels to power the furnaces, as well as the electricity and heating for the chapel, which accomodates 300 mourners.
Due to a lack of facilities in the area people had been denied their funeral wishes, across the UK 70 of the population are cremated with only 30 being buried.
David Gauld the Edinburgh based architect behind this venture has revealed his plans to install 350 solar panels in a bid to increase its energy efficiency and grant the population’s funeral wishes.
The Scottish government recently announced how it will invest £1 million into making Aberdeenshire more green!
