Here is the press release from Channel 5 about the exciting new TV programme Garden ER.
Channel 5 today announced a brand new commission Garden E.R an ad funded series, sponsored by Anglian Home Improvements. This 8-part series aims to offer viewers a unique, accessible and stylish take on gardening that will appeal to both gardeners and non-gardeners alike. The series will also be the second of which to feature product placement on Channel 5, closely following Mexican Food Made Simple with Thomasina Miers.
The series is led by TV presenter and Chelsea Gold garden designer David Domoney, assisted by Bonnie Davies, his female co-host.
David Domoney said: “This is such an exciting project to be involved with and I can’t wait to get started helping to create some beautiful gardens and pass on invaluable tips that I have built up over my career. It is also great to be working with my co-host Bonnie who brings a fresh appeal to gardening.”
Each programme will feature a dramatic makeover of an average-sized garden located in a new housing development in the Midlands, with plenty of suggestions on how to achieve garden glory on a budget.
The presenting team will also be taking tours around celebrity gardens, righting some of the worst gardening gaffs imaginable and “pimping” up some garden sheds.
Greg Barnett, Commissioning Editor, Entertainment, Daytime & Soaps said: “This is very exciting new commission for Channel 5 and novice gardeners everywhere. It is fantastic to be working with David Domoney who is one of Britain’s leading gardeners with a wealth of experience & 27 Royal Horticultural Society Medals under his belt. Viewers will enjoy his creative flare and the style that he will bring to gardens up and down the country.”
Martin Troughton, Marketing Director at Anglian Home Improvements said: “As sponsors of Garden ER, Anglian Home Improvements have extended the concept of improving living space from the home to the great British outdoors. Gardens play an important role in the summer months and we understand the significance of improving homeowner’s external space, because the nation’s gardens become a whole new ‘room’ to spend the summer in. We are certain the programme will stimulate and inspire viewers to improve their living space by watching David and his ingenious flare for creative gardening.”
