The Royal Horticultural Society, Britain in Bloom competition has come to a close, but here are some pictures of Freckleton in Bloom, who received £150 funding from Anglian Home Improvements.
The Freckleton in Bloom team were looking to develop an area on the main road at the entrance of the village, in a project called Freckleton Heritage Wall. The team of volunteers were replacing an old boat with a new feature bed that would be more in keeping with the heritage of the village, which would also provide a more permanent structure and display area.
Using recycled bricks and two old gate stoops, which were kindly donated by a member of the community. Local labour was used to construct the wall and apprentices from a local business provided the lettering to finish off this stunning feature. Here is the result!
The heritage wall looks gorgeous, but how did they fair in the Britain in Bloom competition? For their entry in the Town category, they were awarded a Silver Gilt, which is something to be proud of.
