To celebrate the start of 2012 and Anglian Home Improvements’ 46th anniversary, the company ran a competition in the local and regional newspapers offering 3 pairs of VIP Tickets to watch Norwich City Football Club v Bolton Wanderers on Saturday 4th February 2012.
Not only did the winners get to enjoy corporate hospitality in the Anglian box at Carrow Road, which included complementary food and drink, but the prize got better with a tour of the ground and changing rooms before the game.
Finally two of the lucky winners had the opportunity to present the Anglian Home Improvements Man of the Match award on the pitch at the end of the game!
The Winners were thrilled to have been picked and were happy to offer a few lines to let you know what an enjoyable experience it had been.
Neil and Erin
“The prize of tickets to the Norwich V Bolton game in the Anglian box provided us with an amazing day as avid Norwich City fans. The hospitality was superb with waitress service providing us with a ready supply of drinks and then a lovely 3 course Indian meal. We then had great seats to watch the match which Norwich won 2 – 0 after a brilliant performance. The day was topped off when Erin got to present the Man of the Match award to Simeon Jackson who is our eldest son’s favourite player. We were also allowed entrance to the Gunn Club to see Simeon interviewed where we were able to get his autograph for our son. We would like to thank all at Anglian Home Improvements particularly Claire and Melanie who were wonderful hosts.”
Graham and Paul
On behalf of my son and myself I would like to thank you and your colleagues for your exceptional hospitality towards us on Saturday 4 February at the Norwich v Bolton game.
We had an absolutely fantastic time from the time we arrived to the time we left. It certainly was a day to remember especially for Paul presenting the Man of Match award. It really was a superb day out you could not have done more to make us feel welcome once again our sincere thanks for everything.
Another guest on the day was Liz and her bear, Norwich City Bear to his friends, NCB of course.
I have been watching matches at Carrow Road since the late 1960s. In those days I stood in the South Stand at around the same spot where I now have a seat – having become a season ticket holder about four years ago.
On Saturday I saw the club from a different perspective – with a tour of the ground, lunch in the warm. It was really interesting to see how the teams prepare for the match with the kits laid out in their dressing rooms and the individual piles of boots each player chooses from.
Pre-match highlight was going down onto the hallowed turf with Claire to present the Man of the Month champagne to winner Zak Whitbread. I even got to sit in manager Paul Lambert’s seat in the dug out while we were waiting!!
Watching the match from just outside Anglian’s box meant much comfier seats than normal and a bird’s-eye view.
Having been warmed by coffee at half time it was back out into the very cold to cheer on the Canaries. It had been a good match fairly played, no yellow or red cards, refereed well and of course, the best team won.
For me it was an unforgettable afternoon. The insights into how the club gets ready for games – the hospitality operation is huge, much bigger than most of us could ever imagine.
But the best part was the people I shared it with – they were all great. Thanks again to Anglian Home Improvements for their hospitality.
