Stoke City were represented by Leon Jenks and his team from Anglian Home Improvements Central East region, who have written us this blog about their Premier League in a Day experience.
We went down to Norwich thinking/hoping that we could retain the trophy as the mighty Stoke City. The standard of the majority of teams was much higher than the previous event though and in truth we didn’t take a large enough squad of players.
In the end we think that the best team won in Aston Villa, and although we managed to hold them to a 2-2 draw in the first leg, we got stuffed in the return fixture. There was also valiant efforts from Swansea, Everton, Liverpool and Norwich who all did themselves proud.
Kirk, along with others who helped on the day (Caroline Mills, Martin Troughton, Julie Smith, and all the referees etc) deserve the biggest well done though for superb organisation and hard work.
In Central East we are terrible losers so weren’t happy about not winning, but apart from the fact none of us can walk (and a few minor injuries) we all had a great day…..and will look to return in 2 years to battle for our trophy back.
