Wednesday 22 June was the evening of the Norfolk Safer Community Awards, an event where police officers and staff together with members of the public are recognised for the work they do to improve the quality of life for Norfolk communities.
This annual event marks the progress of the Constabulary thanks to the help of communities and individuals across Norfolk. The event at Dunston Hall gives awards to individuals or teams for their contributions to the work of the Force.
Anglian Home Improvements sponsored the Safer Neighbourhood Team of the Year award, which went to the Watton SNT. Their work with the local community and the Breckland Council has made substantial reductions in youth related Anti-Social Behaviour by targeting known offenders and engaging with them by means of Acceptable Behaviour Contracts.
Chief Constable Phil Gormley said, “Last night was about recognising and rewarding some of the fantastic work that takes place across the county, particularly when the Constabulary and the wider community work side-by-side.”
