Anglian Home Improvements have been accepted into this year’s Hampton Court Palace Flower Show being held from the 5th-10th July. Pairing up with TV landscape designer David Domoney, we are expected to launch a garden that will most definitely shock and amaze you!
The Garden Press Event which was held 3rd February saw some of the leading horticultural scientists in Europe come together to support David Domoney to create a completely ‘naked’ garden. The aim is to grow a wide variety of plants from across the globe, including America, Brazil, Thailand and Europe, which will be able to grow without soil. These plants are set to grow perfectly normal still producing gorgeous flowers, foliage, fruit and vegetables.
The strange and challenging ‘naked’ garden idea came from Anglian’s glazing technology, which is always ‘invisible’ to the homeowner’s eye, hidden in the natural transparency of glass. David Domoney’s garden will be getting the plants pots off and put them in cleverly made glass containers with transparent materials, exposing the plants ‘naked’ beauty uncovering the parts normally hidden.
David Domoney explains, “Plants will be grown soil free so all the containers we use will be glass with water solution inside enabling everyone to see what is above and below the water level. The plants will be getting their pots off through the challenging technology of aquatic culture that creates plants with exposed roots.”
Martin Troughton, Marketing Director at Anglian Home Improvements said, “It is exciting to be working with David on this project because by exposing some of the world’s most striking plants through clever glass technology and design, we are able to discover a new beauty and one that will amaze the gardening world. By opening our eyes to what we traditionally cannot see, we hope to challenge Hampton Court Palace Flower Show visitors and encourage a new take on plants this summer.”
This is great news, especially as Anglian has linked up with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) sponsoring Britain in Bloom. Anglian Home Improvements share the common purpose to make Britain a ‘greener’ place to live, with their range of products to make the home more energy efficient.
