Why choose Timberland Flooring?
At Timberland, we source timbers from around the world to ensure that our customers get the ultimate in choice. With the UK’s widest range of timbers spanning over 150 materials and finishes – from the palest cream of ash to the deepest brown of walnut – you are sure to find the perfect floor, one that will match your individual style, décor and lighting.
Every Timberland floor has its own individual character with a natural beauty that never dates. It will last for years and years too and will mature as the colours deepen with increasing richness and depth: a real asset to a fine home.
Your choice of Timberland floor ranges from solid oak, pre-finished and pre-oiled, to a striking selection of very stable engineered wood floors with a
selected 4mm thick top layer in a variety of hardwoods, spruce or pine core to provide the stiffening and weight and a spruce peel veneer balancing layer on the underside.
Solid wood flooring
Many clients prefer solid floors and, in certain situations, solid floors can be advantageous over engineered wood floors e.g. where a structural floor is required or to satisfy architects' requirements. To meet this need, Anglian and Timberland offer a range of pre-finished, oiled, Solid Oak floors.
Engineered wooden flooring
The Standard Timberland flooring is 15mm thick with a selected, 4mm top hardwood layer, central fast-growing softwood / hevea core to provide the stiffening and weight, and is capped on the back with a spruce, peel-veneer balancing layer.
The top hardwood surface is sufficiently thick to take 5 sandings and information from the suppliers estimates that it is usually 10-12 years between sandings. With Timberland you have a floor with a life expectancy of over 60 years.
Everything used in the manufacture of Timberland flooring is water-based. All the glues are water-based, as are the multiple layers of acrylic lacquer on top, so there are no fumes or formaldehyde solvents slowly leaking into the air.
This important consideration is already legislation in Europe and is becoming an important consideration in the UK, so with Timberland we like to think we are ahead of current trends.
