Frequently Asked Questions

Real wood flooring is a specialist product, can I be sure the company I choose is an established expert in the field ?
Often imitated but never matched, for the past ten years Timberland Flooring has been recognised as the leading national company for the supply and installation of real wooden flooring. We fit literally acres of flooring every year.
What do Timberland mean by “real wooden flooring”?
Timberland Flooring only supply and install a proper 15mm engineered hardwood floor with either a multi layer lacquer, or oil finishes, or indeed specialist solid floors.
We would never contemplate or offer thinner cheap timber, often plywood based or sometimes miscalled ‘Superboard’, or imitation wood laminate flooring normally only 7 / 8mm thick.
Will the company I choose give me the best advice for my needs?
Yes. We want your floor to last just as much as you do.
By refusing to supply cheap alternatives as mentioned above, Timberland only offer the best flooring available for the domestic market. Our long experience has shown that a lesser product just will not do the same job.
Our flooring material comes to us direct from our exclusive manufacturing line in Germany. In working directly, Timberland can offer you the highest quality flooring, often for the same price as supposed cheap alternatives, but with total manufacturers backup & support
Who will install my flooring?
At Timberland we only use our own installation teams, never third party sub-contractors.
All Timberland installers undergo extensive training in all aspects of wooden floor installation to complement their existing carpentry skills. They will arrive promptly at your home in a fully liveried company van, and you will find them experienced, courteous and professional at all times.
Will a full quantity survey be carried out before my flooring is installed?
Yes, in every single case. Timberland places great importance on the quantity survey prior to installation. We know it is vital to re-check quantities, species of timber chosen, run damp tests where indicated, and assess the condition of sub floors prior to installation. This will ensure your installation proceeds with the minimum of fuss and upheaval, avoiding delays caused by incorrect quantities.
It is surprising to find that many Timberland imitators don’t bother with this essential service.
How much choice of wood species / type do we have?
As specialists in our market we don’t just stock the standard Oak and Beech range, but offer the most extensive selection available in Europe today. Choosing a Timberland floor means being able to select from all the popular European species such as Oak, Cherry, Steamed Beech, Maple and Ash right through to the more exotic choices as Aloma, Merbau, Iroko, Kambala Teak and Mahogany, to name a few.
Where can we purchase after care products?
Caring for your floor after installation is an important part of keeping its good looks. Timberland carry a full range of after care products including specialist floor mops, lacquer refreshing fluid, maintenance oil, soap cleaning fluid, furniture protection pads and castor cups.
These are available to purchase online or by mail order, from our technical surveyor’s, or from your installer.
