The actress and the Coldplay front man have bought the property next door and plan to attach both properties through various alterations including new windows and doors.

A neighbour told the Daily Mail: “No one objected as they are not going to change the outside appearance of the property and the extension is on their land.”

People thinking about investing in double glazing or a conservatory may be inspired by the couples’ home improvement regime, which is predicted to make their London dwelling worth around £7 million.

The couple originally bought their house from Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet in 2004 for a reported sum of £2.5 million.
