Global Emissions Rise in 2010

The world is trying to cut it’s carbon emissions in a desperate attempt to reduce greenhouse emissions, but it seems we are failing as there has been a rise again last year.

The plan put in place by world leaders was to limit the rise in global temperature to 2C, but that has failed dismally as last year rose by 5 in comparison with 2008, after an initial fall in 2009, according to the International Energy Agency. The drop in 2009 was due to the financial crisis though, rather than the plan going well, which highlights how much work is needed to ensure the reduction of carbon emissions.

Carbon emissions increasing!

The source claims that under-developed countries catching up with the modern industries responsible for the greatest increase, with China and India becoming more industrialised a large contributor to the increase.

If the world is still developing can we actually reach the target level of greenhouse emissions in the time given?

The International Energy Agency claims that last year CO2 emissions reached an enormous 30.6 gigatonnes! This should open the eyes of the world again and hopefully, persuade more industries, businesses and homeowners to do their bit to reduce their carbon footprint.
