At this year’s Ideal Home Show, sponsored by Anglian Home Improvements, George Clarke has recreated the TV classic Only Fools and Horses flat. It is complete with a retro 60s vibe as well as some ‘old school’ items that Del Boy would’ve owned, including the iconic Trotter’s Independent 3 wheeler and Boycie was there for the opening!

The replicated 80s flat sat opposite a retrofitted flat that George Clarke designed. He called it an ‘Elastic Living’ makeover to bring it into the 21st century and give the city flat more living space with some new and innovative gadgets.

The Elastic Living makeover utilised every space, nook and cranny to optimise comfortable living, helping the flat look bigger and giving good storage space to reduce clutter. Such gadgets included a bed that folded up into the wall and had a mirror underneath, a storage unit that had enough space for a computer with passage holes for cables and a built in neon light, and a table that extends into 5 sections and can seat 12 people.

If you are going to the show, we recommend you visit the flat and have your photo taken dressed up as the famous characters to share on social media using the hashtag #cushty. Which flat do you prefer? Do you think Del Boy would approve of the new look or is it missing some Faux fur sheets and a bar?
