Windy first league match of the season for STOWMARKET RFC v NORWICH RFC

By on 17th September in Fun

For the first league game of the season, Norwich Rugby Football Club, sponsored by Anglian Home Improvements, travelled to Stowmarket.  However, the weather was not aware of the day’s significance and high cross winds blew across the pitch affecting match play. The pitch was in near perfect condition  thanks to the groundsmen, for the first league match of the season for Norwich.

From the start, the flow of the game favoured Norwich, but they were unlucky not to get a penalty from an offside call, before the kick hit the posts.

At the start the sides looked very evenly matched, but the run of play changed and Stowmarket took the lead in the 12th minute giving the home side advantage.
