On a grey, but briefly sunny January afternoon, at the first game of the New Year sponsored by Anglian Home Improvements, Norwich Rugby Football Club entertained Harlow Rugby Football Club at home.
In what was expected to be a reasonably straight forward game, the result could have gone either way right up to the final whistle. It was an entertaining game for supporters to watch. Thankfully Norwich hung on into the dying moments of the game to start the New Year with a win.
Ben Thompson makes an appearance after work commitments have kept him away from the game
Joe Riches coped well after changing to the hooker/thrower position after the withdrawal of Mike Hindle through injury.

With plenty of supporter participation from the sidelines, the referee did remind the crowd in the latter stages of the game to keep their vocal opinions to themselves.
Harlow struggled to maintain any ground in the Norwich half, during the second half of the game. With the Norwich defence holding strong, but relieved when the final whistle blew, gathering a bonus point from the win.
