10 year old Daniel Brooks is training hard for this year’s motorcross season

You may remember that for the last two years Anglian Home Improvements has sponsored 10 year old Daniel Brooks, a young motorcross rider who has been competing in Europe. This year he has got a new bike to help him compete against the rest of the competitors and achieve more wins. Here is an update from his dad, Matt.

Dan's new bike

Take a look at Daniel with his new 85cc KTM machine with its new graphics, we are just waiting for some new blue and black wheels to finish it all off!

It has been a little while since we have spoken, but the weather this year is preventing the racing season from getting started, although we have done a fair bit of practicing; in fact, we rode for three days over the Easter bank holiday.

Next week we are off to Holland and Belgium for 4 days of testing the new bike. Hopefully the season will get going soon and we can go and do a bit of racing!

We have raced once at a local club meeting in Sussex a couple of weeks ago, and on his first outing on the new bike Dan placed 5th in all three races, out of a full line up of thirty riders. Again we have to remember Dan is still only 10 years old, he is by far the youngest in his group, racing against competitors up to 15 years old.

Anyway let’s hope the ground dries up soon and we can get racing! I will report back on his progress as we go through the year.
