Oh what a dank day!

On a miserable, wet and gloomy afternoon Norwich Rugby Football Club travelled to Saffron Walden R.F.C., with their travelling fans, hoping to come away with some points.

The game started with Norwich playing some entertaining rugby, managing to secure the ball, but the home team had other ideas and were determined to prevent any breakthrough by the visitors.

Saffron Walden spread their defence across the pitch making efficient use of ball possession once they had it, taking the score at half time 11 – 0.

Norwich was under pressure as the second half started.  Although functioning well and getting some good passage of play, the Saffron Walden defence was proving difficult to breach.

Saffron Walden had come into the game wanting the bonus point. They pressed hard right from the start, and got what they wanted in the last quarter of the game, as tackles were being missed by Norwich.

It was a tough game and Norwich played well in parts, but they needed to convert the opportunities they had available, and will need to do this in future games before they lose the chance to move up the table.

The game finished Norwich 5 – Saffron Walden 35

Norwich sponsored by Anglian Home Improvements will be playing their next  league game away against Holt R.F.C. on the 30th November.
