This weekend it was Norwich R.F.C. who had to travel just over the county border into Suffolk to play Lowestoft & Yarmouth R.F.C. This game was equally important for both teams as they were in the relegation zone… so a win was vital.
Norwich dominated the first 20 minutes and the last 10 minutes of the first half, but their attacks were defeated. It was a frustrating first half for both sides without any points being scored.
The second half started with excitement for the Lowestoft & Yarmouth team as they pushed hard into the Norwich half. With a selection of tries, penalty kicks and conversion attempts points see-sawed back and forth for both teams. In the dying minutes of the game Norwich launched an attack, going over the corner to give them a one point lead, just before the final whistle.
With a huge sigh of relief Norwich won by the skin of their teeth and claimed the four points. It was a very tight game and Lowestoft & Yarmouth will have been bitterly disappointed to loose after all their hard work.
