This week, Norwich R.F.C. travelled to High Kelling to play Holt R.F.C. Both teams had agreed before the start to compete for both the Norfolk Cup and a league fixture in the one game – so gave themselves quite the challenge!
It was expected to be a tough but exciting game and both teams did not disappoint the spectators. Although the pitch was slippery, Holt was intent and took the lead at the start. However, it was not long before Norwich began to fight back and took advantage of infringements and penalties by Holt. The score at the end of the first half was 20 – 12.
Norwich started the second half with determination and were rewarded with a conversion. Holt then pushed back, attacking and winning the ball back to convert a try. Holt again pushed into the Norwich half, but were held by the visitors who stood firm.

Both clubs were supported well by their vocal club coaches, physiotherapists and respective supporters. It turned out to be an exciting game which swung back and forth between the teams. Holt might have felt they should have won, but Norwich came away the victors and were relieved by the final score.
The game finished Norwich 35 – Holt 22
Norwich – who are sponsored by Anglian Home Improvements – will play their next game against Ipswich R.F.C. at home on the 7th December.
