Daniel Brooks Progressing Well

By on 26th May in Our Company News

Young Daniel Brooks’ motorcross career is going well, finishing in 10th overall at the last competition, but how did he get on in his latest race? His Dad, Matt, explains the day;

We moved to Staplehurst in the Kent country side three weekends ago on what turned out to be a really hot and sunny day. Armed with plenty of sun-cream and shades the racing began on a really well prepared track, it had been really well watered overnight in an effort to keep the dust down.

Daniel on a corner

Dan is going from strength to strength and this started to show in the first race with Dan qualifying in the middle of the 25 rider field. He soon moved through the field and by the end of the second lap had climbed into 7th place and was in a battle with 5 riders for 4th place.

The first nine riders were in a league of there own lapping up to 11th place by the end of the race, with Dan claiming a great 7th place.

Battling hard

When second race got under way, the sun was beating down on us and the track had dried out causing the dust to rise and visibility became tricky for the riders. However, Dan got off to a good start and rode a very solid race claiming 6th place at the end, although the heat seemed to take its toll towards the end and he was a little red faced to say the least.

Going up the ranks

The last race of the day began and disaster struck as Dan when a rider lost control and crashed into Dan. By the time he had picked himself up and regained his breath, he was now half a lap behind the field. Dan didn’t let this deter him though, as he rode like a man possessed, quickly catching the tail enders and working his way through the field.

Mid-air challenge

Despite the crash Dan still managed a great ninth place to end the day 7th overall, setting him up nicely for the final qualifier coming up one week later for the schoolboy nationals.

It is amazing to see an 8 year old doing so well, in a competition where he is battling against racers who are a year or two older than him. Well done and good luck with the next race! 🙂
