Anglian are sponsoring the young and talented motorcross rider, Daniel Brookes, and here is the latest instalment from his dad Matt Brookes about this weekends race, but how did he get on?
We have just had a good weekends racing at Ringmer in Sussex. The weather was kind to us this weekend, no need for the tractors. The track was in perfect conditions which lead to some great racing!
Dan’s confidence is returning quickly as is the strength in his injured arm. The Anglian backed KTM, again, didn’t miss a beat all weekend. He started the weekend steadily in the first race, but rode very smoothly to achieve a great 8th place. In the second race Dan had a poor start being near the back of the field but quickly made up positions to take another 8th place.
In the last race, following a reasonable start he rode very well to finish in a respectable 6th place, his best finish for the season so far! This earnt him a 7th place overall on the day and a happy smiling Dan is starting to show signs of him getting back to his old self.
Our next race meeting is at the famous Wildtracks venue just north of Cambridge in three weeks time. Dan loves this sandy technical track and will be going for his best results of the season. In-between races we will be getting in lots of bike time with a 4 day trip planned in Holland. He will be practising over the Easter school holidays and getting in as much riding as possible in the UK before the next race.
