Silver Medal for Anglian’s ‘Naked Garden’ at Hampton Court Flower Show

The UK’s leading home improvement specialists, Anglian Home Improvements, has won a Silver Medal for its Naked Garden, designed by TV landscape designer David Domoney, at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show (5th – 10th July 2011).

The garden was praised by the panel of selected RHS judges for its ground breaking innovation.

Anglian's Marketing Director, Martin Troughton, said: "We are absolutely delighted to be presented with a Silver Medal for our Naked Garden at Hampton Court. The garden is truly unique and it’s been a real privilege to win an award once again at this prestigious event. A huge thanks must go to David Domoney and his team for their creativity and hard work, ensuring that we create a garden that people love.”

The garden united some of the leading horticultural scientists in Europe with David Domoney to create a completely ‘naked’ garden. Plants were sourced from America, Brazil, Netherlands, Europe and Thailand using some of the best varieties that can remarkably grow without soil to produce flowers, foliage, fruit and vegetables.

Building on Anglian’s amazing glazing technology, which is always ‘invisible’ to the homeowner’s eye, David exposed plants in a series of cleverly constructed glass containers and transparent materials to show the beauty of ‘naked’ plants and exposed what is traditionally left undiscovered. David Domoney added “Our Naked Garden showcases some of the world’s most striking plants in a completely different light and we’re delighted to be recognised for creating something the gardening world loves. Using clever glass technology which allows plants to grow soil free in glass containers, garden lovers are able to discover a whole new side to the world of plants.”
