Somerset could welcome new solar park
Plans are currently in motion for a solar park to be built in Somerset, it has been reported.
Permission is being sought for the facility from Taunton Deane Council and will be the first solar power facility of its kind in the region, reveals This is West Country.
"The feedback we received from people who attended our recent planning exhibition was overwhelmingly supportive," commented Solar Power South spokesperson Mark Crosby.
He told the news provider that many people are appreciative of the fact that action needs to be taken to secure the UK's energy future, in which solar panels will play a part.
"Somerset has a nationally important role to play in meeting that objective," he emphasised.
It was reported earlier this week by the Daily Telegraph that plans are currently in place to ensure that the UK does not run out of energy at times of peak demand.
