If the new conservatory was going exactly where the old one was then subject to survey we could build our conservatory on your base. We will not adapt a base in any way however neither extend it nor reduce it. We are also happy for the customer to remove their own site obstructions be it an old conservatory or an outhouse etc.

- What can you do if I have a manhole cover where I want my conservatory?
- If you have a manhole cover in the construction area we have two situations 1) if the manhole is situated on the line of the strip footing it will have to be moved further down the line of the drain. Most drains are less than a metre below the surface and are relatively easy to deal with. Drains which are much deeper or have several inlets pose more problems but our Surveyors are all familiar with drains and manholes. 2) if the manhole falls within the floor area of the conservatory in what’s known as the oversite then provided it is no closer than 400mm to the strip footing then we raise and seal the manhole. The double seal cover we use will ensure there are no problems with odours and it can be tiled or covered over with a soft floor covering
- What can you do if I have an extractor fan where I want my conservatory?
- If an extractor fan is venting to where the conservatory is going then where possible we will re-route the extractor pipe so it does not exit in the conservatory. Should this not be possible then the customer will need to change their extractor (if it is for a cooker) to one which re-circulates the air back into the room through filters.
- Are you able to fit second floor conservatories?
- "Normally we will check to see whether planning permission is required for a conservatory and where it is we obtain it for the customer. In the case of first floor conservatories planning permission is always required and is more frequently refused than with ground floor constructions. We will only take an order for a conservatory for first floor construction where planning permission has already been obtained.
- Do you offer an extended guarantee?
- Yes, Anglian offer Guarantee Plus, an extended guarantee which will cover you once your original guarantee has ran out.
- Does Anglian have an insurance backed guarantee?
- Yes we do offer an insurance backed guarantee known as the Anglian Guarantee Insurance Scheme. Anglian is a registered member of FENSA and amongst other building regulations it stipulates that all customers must be offered insurance that covers their replacement window and door installation in the event of the company ceasing to trade. Unfortunately the industry has a history of small and medium sized companies becoming insolvent leaving customers with worthless guarantees and major expense when any rectification work has to be carried out. This new regulation has been put into force to help protect consumers if this happens.
- How much does the Anglian Guarantee Insurance Scheme cost?
- The cost of the 10 year policy is only £60 as a 'one-off' payment - that equates to just £6 per year. To apply for this scheme you need to complete the application form that is mailed out to you after you've placed an order.
